tiaraiconbloopers

These past two weeks I've been absent because of a newfound fitness addiction. After a year and a half of group fitness classes, I felt I had reached an exercise plateau and needed to change up my routine. My best friend told me about the home fitness program P90x and I've been hooked ever since. I'm on my second week of the 90 day, 6hrs/week program and it's been great to get my man off the coach and working out in our home gym with me. I've been doing a lot of fitness research so that I can keep my veggie diet but get maximum results. I'll keep you posted on my progress!

 All that being said, it's left little time for outfit photos (unless you count sweaty or flexing pics) so for today's post I put together some outfit bloopers I've been saving. We put our best foot forward when it comes to selecting blog photos but it's also important to keep it real!
{My blouse was buttoned up improperly for the whole photo session, that's what happens when your boyfriend is your photographer! Plus these shoes are doing nothing for me, donated them after these pictures were taken!}

{Subtle remnants of an inky reminder written on my hand, a bad habit that has carried over to adulthood}

{Sleepy eyes}

{This was taken before our 3 year Anniversary dinner, lordy look at those roots! Remind me to make a hair appointment, stat!}
{This photo was brought to you by the Grudge, white girl remake}

{Peek-a-boo!}

Would you showcase your blog bloopers?

tiaraiconV-Day

Dress- E-Bay; Sweater & Charm Bracelet- Thrifted; Belt & Shoes- Target; Ring- H&M; Necklace- Laura; Nail Polish- Sweet Tart by Revlon

Happy February 14th, a day that now has two meanings thanks to the empowering work of Eve Ensler.  Valentine's Day (or Hallmark holiday) is lovely and I enjoyed an indulgent night in with my man, sticking to our tradition of cheese platters, chocolate fondue & a chick flick (and this year I threw the sensual croonings of Barry White into the mix- rwrar!

As romantic (and cheesy) as Valentine's Day is, I love February 14th for another reason, V-Day.  V-Day is not just the abbreviation for Valentine's Day, it stands for a global movement to end violence against women & girls through campaigns, awareness building and the Vagina Monologue productions, created by Eve Ensler in 1998.

Statistically speaking, 1/3 women will experience some form of violence in their lifetime the One Billion Rising campaign has been launched to represent the number of women affected and the number of women who will stand up, make noise and work towards ending violence against women!

If you haven't seen a production of the Vagina Monologues, I strongly encourage you to do so, you will be in fits of laughter (I still crack up when I think about the orgasm scene) one minute and welling up at the next.
So from one feminist fashionista to the next, Happy Hallmark holiday & Happy V-Day!

tiaraiconpatterned blazer & a tinfoil tiara

Blazer (worn like this this); Dress, Rings & Belt- Thrifted; Necklace- Gifted (from my Dad); Nail Polish- Cherries in the Snow by Revlon
This weekend, my man and I left our cocoon of winter hibernation just long enough to take these photos at a nearby worn down shed.  I wanted new pictures for my about me page & twitter display pic and so I unearthed my tinfoil tiara, dressed in my favourite thrifted blazer and braved the cold.

My weekend was spent attending a local theatre festival which I look forward to every year.  This year I was somewhat disappointed with the selection, out of the 3 plays I saw I adored one of them; while the second involved far too much interpretive dance for my liking and the third was just plain awful (and I'm no theatre snob!)

My friend and I made up for the poor play by drinking strong cocktails, sharing a cheese tray and chatting at a local bar (there's nothing the c x 3 can't cure!)

Do you enjoy live theatre?

tiaraiconfairweather blogger

Sweater Blazer, Blouse & Belt- Thrifted; Shoes- Vintage; Skirt- Target; Tights- Aldo; Bracelet- The Bay; Rings- Gifted; Nail Polish- Blue Lagoon by Revlon

I can no longer call myself a daily outfit blogger, as I've been neglecting my blogging duties as of late.  My work load has increased; I'm exercising and cooking more; making my new house a home & spending my free time with loved ones (and my latest addiction, American Netflix!) I've always struggled with the concept of  relaxing & down time, but 2013 is shaping up to be the year of balance and I couldn't be happier.  That means I'll probably see less of you here at Tinfoil Tiaras but I'll still make sure to pop in and say hello when I get the chance!

What is your 2013 shaping up to be?
